BBC Membership
Section 1. Membership – Membership into this Church shall be by:
A. Baptism – Any person confessing faith in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and declaring his or her purpose to live a Christian life shall be received for baptism and membership.
B. Testimony of Christian Faith and Letter of Transfer - A person may be received upon letter of transfer certifying baptism by immersion and being a member in good standing prior to leaving the former church.
C. Statement of Christian Experience – A person may be received into membership by providing evidence of conversion and baptism by imm ersion or a statement of Christian experience and renewal of one’s covenant with Christ in lieu of a letter of membership from the previous church.
Section 2. Membership Training
People who are accepted into the membership of this church may be requested to attend a pastor’s class on church membership.
Section 3. Dismissal – Dismissal from this Church shall be for the following reasons:
A. Death
B. Letter – A member may be dismissed to the fellowship of another church by letter of recommendation.
C. Request of the Member - If a member of this church requests dismissal, membership in this Church shall cease.
D. Exclusion – If a member becomes an offense to this Church and to its good name by reason of immoral or unchristian conduct or by consistent breach of the covenant vows, this Church may terminate membership, but only after due notice and a hearing before the Board of Deacons and after faithful efforts have been made to bring such member to repentance and amendment.
