Single's Ministries - JUSTASK

In 2005, one of our members found herself unhappily single. Alone and lonely seemed to best describe the way that many of our community members felt…until early 2006.

At that time, the idea of a singles ministry began but without much excitement. As one of our ladies walked along the beach in Florida, a name came to her as plain as an audible voice.

Their purpose was defined as “Ministry for self, mission for others.” Since its inception in April, 2006, this has given guidance and direction for this group. They are actively searching for opportunities to share God’s love while experiencing His love as well.

Every Tuesday, they participate in a Bible study in Huntington at 7:00 pm at the Highlawn Baptist Church. On Wednesdays, they meet together for dinner at Shoneys (29th Street Exit of I-64) before coming to prayer meeting/Bible study together.

Their weekends are often filled with outings to ball games, fairs, game nights, worship experiences, trips to the ice cream parlor, mini-golf, excursions, and more. Following morning worship on Sundays, they enjoy lunch together before enjoying an impromptu activity (movie, visit to the nursing home or loved ones).

No longer does this group say they are bored and lonely. They are now engaging God’s people in ministry. They are growing together and serving together. They are actively seeking souls for the kingdom of God!
